STORY:
She gritted her teeth and she stumbled into the fresh snow. It was nearly Christmas; she could tell. She heard bells, Jewelies grumbled as they dropped the decor for their store windows for the tenth time. She wished she could see what the children wanted to jump and play about, all she could feel is their cruel warmth. Indigo looked at her, a bit sad as Arya had a strange expression on her face, but she said nothing. Indigo guided Arya across the busy street, heading towards the huge Christmas tree. Indigo held her arm and pulled her gently forward, stepping into the snow to see whether it was safe for her. It was a lot of work, but Indigo was willing to do it for a friend. Arya wondered where Indigo was taking her, but she heard loud crowds and people singing Christmas carols. It sounded nice. Indigo stopped in front of the tree, with the celebrations about to start. Her breath was all cool air, and she shivered as she listened to the Jewelies singing. "What's going on?" Arya asked simply. She tried to piece what she heard together, but they could be anywhere. She couldn't figure out where they were. They were surely celebrating something, like the holidays, or Christmas. She turned to the noise, but she kept trying to keep herself warm. "I-in front of the tree," Indigo said, unsure if she was stuttering or simply cold. "I-it it has very bright colors and there are very bright lights, a-and there are cute little ornaments and stuff," Indie added, knowing her description doesn't help at all. But hse hoped it helped with the image, despite her never seeing any of these items before. "Well you tried," Arya said, muttering. It was hard, but Indigo was trying her best. She heard Indigo let out a little squeak. "I mean, thank you. You really tried, I mean it," she said. Indigo was really shy and sensitive, and she knew it. Arya didn't know it came off as rude... Indigo decided to turn back, and Arya made no objections. It was a repeat of yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that. They go, Indigo tries to explain it, it doesn't work, they turn back. Arya always told Indigo to value her sight, and that she shouldn't be shy. Everything functioned for Indigo, and she let her voice speak. She told Indigo that she shouldn't restrict a gift given to her, and she should be thankful. Maybe one day, they could both see. |
arya is truly the opposite of what you think of a blind jewelie. she isn't timid, nor is she fearful of society. she is firm to her opinion, and a tad bit sarcastic i might add. she isn't afraid to stand up for herself, and she will try to hide the fact that she is blind, and she would actually seem normal. despite her being social, she could be a tad bit sarcastic or rude, when she doesn't really want to. as a child, she wasn't taught how to not be ''mean'' to jewelies. because of her bullied past as a teen, she is ready to stand up to anyone without any hesitation, and in some cases, she would stand up for someone else. inside, she has a deep understanding of what others feel, and she is patient. her problem is, is that she sounds a bit rude when she tries to be helpful, which makes her socially awkward sometimes. she tends to stay quiet when it comes to meeting others, and she has a quick temper. she is loyal and she doesn't fear anything except fire, from an event that happened back from her childhood. she would love to help her friends go through tough things, especially when it comes to standing up for themselves like arya had.
arya wasn't born blind, but it was an incident that very day that changed her life forever. she had loving parents and family, who visited her as often as they wanted to. she was obedient, kind, and a loving child. when she reached toddlerhood, she started to have some trouble. when she saw a bird die and her parents refuse to help it, she began to have major fits. arya saw the world in a different way but did not liek how her parents handle things. she slowly began to grow less independent, and she began to be bold and straightforward to her opinion by the time she was a teenager. arya wanted everyone to hear out to her opinion, a thing that began to cause her trouble at school. her family did not care for her problems as they were rich and had a higher nobility and did not have to care for such things. until the accident. one night, she, with her friends, dared them to go to an abandoned bakery. her friends were scared, but knowing arya was in a rich family, told her to go to the bakery or she was chicken. so she went. she went inside the bakery, and unknowingly her so-called friend attempted to scare her threw embers from the wood burning stove. arya wasn't nimble, but she used her jewel to create snow to block most of the embers, but in a split second, the embers burned her eyes with the combustion of the snow's water. the embers were left burning; by the time the place was almost burnt down, she was rescued. arya was forced to save herself, as the other jewelie left her there in fear of getting in trouble. after the incident, arya's family denied her from coming back, and she was sent to live by herself. |
